The Board Members of Met Council Action are:
- Kenny Schaeffer, Board Chair
Kenny Schaeffer is a tenant attorney with The Legal Aid Society in Queens. He joined Met Council in 1988 through his work with the Morningside Tenants Federation fighting Columbia University’s evictions. - Andrew Foltz-Morrison, Board Secretary
Andrew is a software engineer who has served on Met Council Action’s board since 2017, and dreams of a car-free and decommodified New York City. - Paloma Lara
Paloma Lara is an Uptown organizer and leader with Northern Manhattan Not for Sale and on the board of Northern Manhattan Community Land Trust. She believes that the revolution will not be reached unless we take back our land. - Dorca Reynoso
Dorca Reynoso got involved with Met Council during the 2019 Rent Law fight in Albany motivated by her concern for the destruction of her neighborhood, Inwood, and her own struggles with her landlord. - Tiffany Khan
Tiffany began paying attention to housing issues when one of her neighbors and were evicted (along with their son) following other evictions in a building that had been entirely rent-regulated. When she ran into problems with her landlord a year and a half ago, Tiffany contacted the Met Council and decided to get involved. She was part of the protests for the HSTPA finally passed in June 2019 and has been helping neighbors deal with unscrupulous landlords since. - Jon Lillienthal
Jon has been a Board Member for over 20 years, and started as a staff organizer with MCH in 1995 (and was a MC affiliate with the Queen League of United Tenants as far back as 1988). Has developed a specialty of fighting against Major Capital Improvement rent increases. - Rohit Chandan
Rohit is a housing lawyer at Queens Legal Aid and a member of Astoria Tenants Union, which is a member funded tenants union fighting evictions and harassment. - Jonathan Furlong
Jon Furlong has worked for more than a decade in the affordable housing development field and is the former Director of Organizing at Housing Conservation Coordinators. He joined the Met Council Action Board in 2019. - Dennis Osorio
Dennis is a web developer based out of East Harlem and has been an active member for the past couple of years, including leading a weekly canvass in Speaker Carl Heastie’s district during the fight for Universal Rent Control in 2019.
